Pasta's Ordeal

pasta pre surgeryA few days ago, we found a small bump on Pasta, just under her front left leg...something that didn't look too nice. So naturally, we dropped everything and rushed off to the vet to have it checked out.

Pasta's intelligent. She knows that rarely does anything pleasant ever come from a visit to the vet. So while she was ecstatic at the prospect of getting into the car, she was much less enthusiastic about the situation once she realised where we were heading. By that point however, it was too late for her to turn back...short of jumping out the window and making a break for it.

So this morning, Pasta went for another ride, and found herself at the vet yet again (fooled twice in one week!).

A lot of worrying, a lot of back-and-forth...to make a long story short, Pasta finally made it back home tonight, in pretty good spirits for having gone through surgery.

pasta wants to go homeAs soon as the nurses opened the door to the examination room to let us in, it was all they could do to keep her from running out of the room straight into my arms. All she wanted was get out of there as quickly as possible. Who can blame her?

I took her for a walk to wind down. She hasn't left my side since coming back. She's asleep now, recovering from a highly taxing day.

We still don't know the status of the growth, though. Apparently, it'll take another month or so for the lab tests to be complete. Only then will we know if more drastic action is required.

Talk about stress.
