Just back from extended travel, getting the year off to a heckuva start photographically speaking. Don't have much time to sort through images now, as I have to pack to head out again in a few days.
Perhaps I'm getting old, but I've been in a contemplative mood of late. Thinking through a lot of things going on in the world, some good, most not...changes in society, politics, the environment, even the world of photography.
Maybe I'll work up the energy to post some thoughts later; more likely that I'll be overwhelmed with logistics though.
I had an opportunity to spend some time photographing land animals in recent weeks (read: conditions at sea sucked).
The shot above of a tufted grey langur (Semnopithecus priam) is one of my favourites from this unplanned terrestrial foray. Waited some time to capture the simian's moment of quiet reflection...which was, appropriately enough, precisely my state of mind at the time.
