I needed a break from going through humpback whale photos, so I took a bit of time to process this image. It's a sperm whale family unit swimming along, engaged in important whale stuff (like rolling around and doing cartwheels).
The individual in front, with its mouth partly open, was one of three juveniles in this group.
This "little" whale was probably on the order of five, perhaps six, metres in length.
All the whales were clicking and clacking, chattering among themselves as it were, but this inquisitive one took a moment to approach and direct a more concentrated, though gentle, series of clicks at me.
