Imagine my surprise when I got an email from fellow underwater photograph Mark Strickland saying that he was arriving in Tonga soon! A couple of emails later, we managed to work out the logistics and hooked up.
Mark was travelling with Douglas Hoffman, who’s also a photographer. He spent a lot of time in Manado and now lives in Maui, where he has a successful photography business.
We caught up over a leisurely lunch and traded a few stories (as always happens when obsessive underwater photographers meet up). Mark and Doug are going on a 10-day liveaboard trip to try to get to know the humpbacks. Good luck guys!
